Faridabad: Celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on 15th August 2016. The celebrations began with the unfurling of National flag and singing of National Anthem at NHPC Office Complex, Faridabad. Speaking on the occasion, Shri K.M. Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC extended his greetings to the entire NHPC family on India’s 70th Independence Day and said that may the festival of Independence which has been obtained though sacrifice of great patriots and distinguished national leaders give us new strength, new enthusiasm and new inspiration and build our self-confidence. Chairman and Managing Director appealed for cooperation from everyone towards supporting various programmes launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India including the ‘Make in India’ campaign and also stressed upon practicing Yoga. He also said that NHPC is committed towards maintaining its premier position in the field of hydropower and the company has focused its attention towards quick development of the vast available untapped hydroelectric potential of the country. The highlight of the celebrations was a cultural programme featuring street play and patriotic songs.
